How to Read These Prices
Plumbing costs change with the job, the parts and the time of day. So we list typical UK ranges from independent guides instead of our own prices. Each range names at least two sources, and you can open them to check the detail.
Treat every figure as a guide. Prices in the East Midlands often sit below London and the South East, yet your job may still cost more or less. Some guides include VAT and some do not, so check the source before you compare.
For an exact price, send a request with the job details and your postcode. Then ask for the quote in writing before any work starts.

Why Prices Differ
Two jobs that look the same can cost different amounts. Access matters, because a pipe under a floor takes longer to reach than one under a sink. Parts matter too, while the time of day can change the rate.
The guides also disagree with each other, since each one samples different firms and regions. That is why we show a spread and name the sources. A range gives you a fair starting point, but only a quote for your job gives you a price.
Questions to Ask About Any Quote
A clear quote saves arguments later. Ask the questions below before you say yes, because the answers show what the price really covers. Still, keep the quote in writing, so both sides can check it.
- Is the price fixed, or is it an estimate?
- Does it include VAT, parts and any call-out fee?
- What guarantee covers the work, and for how long?
- Can I see proof of insurance?
